The rivers of Bristol Bay are home to the largest remaining salmon runs on Earth. The Wild Salmon Center and our Alaska partners are working to protect Bristol Bay and it’s wild salmon from the proposed Pebble Mine, a large scale gold and copper mining development.
The mission of the Wild Salmon Center is to promote the conservation and sustainable use of wild salmon ecosystems across the Pacific Rim. With the help of our partners, 3 million acres and 12,000 river miles of habitat have been protected or prioritized for wild fish management since 1992.
