In July 2017, Malaysian company Petronas announced it was suspending its plans to develop a massive LNG terminal at the mouth of the Skeena River in British Columbia – temporarily safeguarding the estuary’s world-class habitat for juvenile salmon and steelhead.
However, Petronas still holds the development rights for this project. We need your help to ensure long-term protection for the Skeena watershed by supporting our partners’ ongoing legal challenges to the LNG project permits, blocking its future resurrection.
Help us continue our defense of this remarkable river by supporting the Skeena Stronghold Partnership: a joint initiative of Wild Salmon Center and the SkeenaWild Conservation Trust to achieve a balanced and mutually-beneficial coexistence between communities and wild salmon.
