You can ensure that wild salmon thrive for generations to come!
Wild Salmon Center (WSC), an international nonprofit conservation organization, offers volunteer and intern opportunities to individuals interested in protecting some of the most beautiful and diverse ecosystems across the northern Pacific Rim.
Volunteering and Internships
WSC volunteers and interns generally offer support to program staff for specific projects including international science conferences, outreach and media events, writing and editing projects, grant writing, development prospect research and database entry, translations, GIS mapping and more. Our internships are generally unpaid but there is plenty of opportunity to gain real life experience with professionals who are experts in their field as well as participate in organizational meetings and events. Interns should be able to contribute approximately 10-20 hours per week for 3-6 months; however, schedules and length of internships may vary depending on the intern’s interest, experience and availability. WSC provides Tri-Met tickets for use of public transportation to and from the office for work conducted during regular business hours (8:30am - 5:30pm, M-F). Our office headquarters is on the third floor of the Jean Vollum Natural Capitol Center, a gold LEED certified building, located right in the heart of a thriving business community committed to green practices.

Here is what one successful intern said about his experience with Wild Salmon Center:
"Interning with WSC really provided me with an excellent springboard as it was truly my first 'real' work experience. In all of my interviews (for searching for jobs upon graduation), people were always especially interested with my time at WSC and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with such a great organization and group of people! The fun, energetic, close-knit, and entrepreneurial atmosphere and culture at WSC were traits that I really came to appreciate and a big reason why I chose to work with a startup company rather than join a bulge bracket bank or some other large corporation." - Brad Young, Cloud Technology Partners
